EOTD: Taupe & Teal

I had an itch to use my taupe colors although it's not necessary a summer hit color this year. To spice up the look, I added a hint of teal on my lower lash line. It's quite interesting, actually.

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in Tough as Taupe
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  • About Face pigment in Crushed Metal
  • Fyrinnae pigment in Koala

Cover Girl Fairytale Lip Perfection

As the weather getting warmer and the sun seems to shine brighter, I tend to branch more into the brighter lip color. I am rocking orange lippies this week but before I jump into those, I would like to share with you another gorgeous bright shade which is coral.

Yes, I know, it's not Summer yet...but I was so tempted to re-wear this lipstick I've had for almost a year now. I'm talking about Fairytale, of course. The name caught my eye when I browsed around and the color was so eye-popping, it intrigued me.

Face
Pure Anada mineral foundation in Niagra Fawn
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment concealer in Medium (under eye)
Revlon Age Defying concealer in Medium Deep (spots)
EG Mineral Hi Def Pro finishing powder

Cheek
Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset City

Eyes
Too Faced Shadow Insurance (base)
Urban Decay Naked Palette
Jordana Easyliner in Black
Rimmel Sexy Curve mascara
Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown

Lips
Cover Girl Fairytale lipstick

The texture of this lipstick is super smooth, and it does leave a bit of stain on your lips. Although it doesn't settle on my lines when it's dry, I would still suggest you to wear a lipbalm under it...just to be safe :)

Thanks for reading!
Until next time~

EOTD: Vampy's Blood

I know it's a little late for Halloween but I was in an urge to do a dark smoky look. Brown and black have been done before so I was flipping through my mineral samples to see if there's anything else I could use.

I saw this lovely jewel blue from Archetype Cosmetic called Black Dahlia, it's actually a dark blue (almost black) pigment with blue sparkles. I decided to incorporate it with a red pigment from NYX called Penny and used Lucky Charm, a black with purple glitter pigment from The She Space. Dirty Blonde was applied for highlight.

The result is quite dark because I did prime my lid with NYX Black Bean JEP, but I quite like it. I just wished the camera would pick up more blue because it does look bluer in real life. Oh well =)

Product used

  • TFSS
  • NYX Black Bean Jumbo Eye Pencil
  • Archetype Black Dahlia
  • Archetype Dirty Blonde
  • The She Space Lucky Charm
  • NYX Penny
  • L'oreal HiP Black Cream Liner
  • Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara

EOTD: Purple for Fall

Purple is love. Yes, I admit that I buy more purple eye shadows than any other color. It seems like purple is making a comeback this fall as they're seen in many fashion shows & professional photo shoots.

Other than purple, I share as much love for mineral pigments and I have tried many great colors from different companies.

One of the best MMU company that sells matte pigments in particular is
Taylor Made Minerals but I was having a hard time making the pigment stick to my lid. Well, my wait is over because today I paired them up with Mehron Paradise Aqua Color Palette and they stick on it like a lovebirds during mating season. Other than TMM, I used some of shimmers from EG Minerals (love!) and Simply Naturals.

Here are the product used for this look

Mehron Pastel color, I used the light purple one......yes, the one with Homer on it lol.

Taylor Made Minerals Iris (main lid)

NOTD: Konad !

Finally I'm trying on Konad.

First time I heard about Konad I was cracking up because of the name.............KONAD. lol.

Doesn't it make you think dirty? ...........no? maybe it's just me then >.<

*cough* Anyway, I made an order from WowSoCool, using "nailphile" code to get 30% off. The processing time is fast, got shipping notification practically the next day & they arrived within 3 days.

The shipping is free Worldwide for $20 minimum purchase
so I ordered the stamp & scraper kit, 3 plates and 1 White special polish. I know you don't need to get special polish to make it work but I wanted to make comparison so I went ahead and get one anyway.

I am trying out the musical notes from Plate m73, I have to say my first trial FAILED MISERABLY lol. For some reason I was having a hard time getting the polish quick enough to transfer to the stamper. I practiced couple of times and the results you see is probably the most decent one. I know.....sad, right? xD well, I didn't expect it to turn out amazing on first try anyway, so I'll keep practicing hahaha

*my sister asked me what Ulzzang means so I took this picture to show her. Of course I don't do the crazy eyeliner thing because I think my eyes are already scarily big. Remind you, I don't normally don't do cutesy stuff so this is considered a gold dust =P*

So here's me, a Konad virgin supporting Ulzzang look.

If you read my last FOTD post, you must have noticed I've been wearing Pure Anada Mineral Foundation. I tested out this mineral company back in 2007 when I was just starting out with minerals. I found this Canada-based mineral company to be ethnic-friendly, meaning they have various shades and skin tones available to women with colors. Candace, the owner of Pure Anada is a total sweetheart. I was having problems finding my shade and she helped me through & through. I sent her my shade with other foundation via post and she mailed me back the exact shade of Pure Anada Mineral Foundation full size, to try out.

Unfortunately I was being too excited trying all different kinds of MMU and had forgotten about Pure Anada. Not until recently I fell in love again with the perfect shade & coverage I want, and my skin has been loving the finish and how it captures in picture.

My shade is "Niagara Fawn", an Olive undertone.

I wasn't paid doing this review but merely an excitement of finding a 'new' old love.
