Buff'd Blushes

Today my goodies from Buff'd arrived :)

I ordered some blushes:
  • Crabapple: deep pink with rich red highlights.
  • Cinnamon: silky brown with shimmering bronze highlights.
  • Winterberry: cool burgundy.
  • Crimson: pure regal red.

Jen is really nice, she included free samples of her mineral e/s in:
  • Glow: warm autumn gold.
  • Chestnut: warm reddish brown.
They cost me $4.00 ($1.00 each sample, free shipping!) and I loveeeee the colors they offer, made me wanna get everything, but since I thought the shipping is free anyway, I just got 4 blushes to test out the product..but now that I see the results, mmm I wanna get some more LOL

Blush Whoring -continued-

I seriously have no idea what happened to me but I can't stop sampling blushes. I promised one of my friend in Japan who reads my blog once every now & then that I wouldn't be buying more samples for a while now since I thought I was all set.

Pfffttttttttt!

Yeah who am I kidding, right? She even said "We'll see, Inan...I'll just have to read your post!" LOL So after lemming for quite some time (read: an hour and a half), I decided to sample some more blushes from LaurEss. I have heard about their ongoing sale and the newest 'Minimalist Foundation' line but I don't feel like sampling any foundation at the mo', so I didn't even bother checking them.. hehe

I only sample 4 shades: 2 Simply Matte, 2 Candle Lights. (Shipping: $1.30)

My best friend (who is also still in Japan, getting her master degree) has just been introduced to MMU (by me LOL) and I was helping her choosing some good starter samples from various brands, and while guiding her to The She Space for eye pigments, I was also tempted to place my 2nd order. After I looked around I decided to try their Custom Pigment Bar and since I'm not too crazy about glitters & all that jazz, I chose not to add any twinkles.

I got 4 Custom Bar pigments, 1 regular eye pigment, and of course, 1 blush ^_^ (Shipping: $1.00)

New Background & Buff'd Swatches

Yes, I changed the background ^_^ what do you guys think? I like this one better, I love the bohemian pattern hehehe

Today was pretty cloudy here in Hawaii, been rainy for the last 3 days, it makes me lazy going out of the house LOL So as I told you, Buff'd has a wonderful costumer service and they gave me 6 samples for free, including shipping so today I swatch the foundations. I previously chose:
-Warm: Medium shade with balance yellow & pink undertones.
-Buff: Medium shade with subtle yellow undertones.
-Pecan: Medium shade with pink undertones.
-Toffee: Medium-dark shade with balanced yellow and pink undertones.

that was until I realize I have more yellow than pink in my undertones :( so I knew Warm and Pecan wouldn't work on me...so I asked Jen, Buff'd c.s, if I can sample 2 more, so she sent me:
-Saffron: Medium shade with heavier yellow undertones.
-Caramel: Medium-dark shade with subtle yellow undertones.

Here are the swatches:

I think Warm and Buff are definitely too light whereas Toffee, Saffron and Caramel matches pretty good. I didn't bother swatching Pecan since it'll be too pink for me. Saffron seems to match the best, don't you guys think? but again, my face sometimes can be funny and I have a feeling Caramel will match my face better. Will do test on my face and update with you guys later :D

toodles for now!

I'm totally Buff'd !

Ok this is gonna be a quick one, I just wanna share something...last night after 2 hours reading Mineral Makeuptalk religiously, I decided to try Buff'd cosmetics. So I went to the site, found the contact info and e-mailed the contact person named Jennifer Burns, asking how much for the shipping if I want a try samples.

I told her that I wanna try Warm, Buff, Pecan, Toffee, and Caramel. She replied, saying she can give samples FOR FREE (yep, no shipping, nothing) but I can only choose three, so I said just Buff, Pecan, and Toffee.

The next day I was reading FABU-LESS Beauty blog and she mentioned buying Buff'd samples. Since we probably wear the same/similar shade (I'm wearing MAC NW35), I was thinking...Toffee might be too dark for me.

So I sent another e-mail to Jennifer, asking if it's still possible to exchange Toffee with Warm. Two hours later she replied and said she could also throw in Warm so i can try everything. Isn't that amazing? I really hope I would find my match otherwise I'd feel bad for not buying hahahahaha (or maybe that's their marketing strategy? hmmmm) Oh well, whatever it is I have to say Buff'd has a great c.s and I just proved it myself.
