Bath Cream War

Remember the Scrub War I did a while ago? Now it's time for the lovely Bath Creams to be put on the spot light. I love bath creams, they're just so fun to use. My first bath cream was from Outtabody, an Etsy store that sells great selection of soaps and they came out with a new product called 'Whipped Soap Mouse' which is basically a bath cream.

I sampled 6 packs of soap mouse and the owner, Khandi, was nice enough to send me a 1 freebies. A week after, she mailed me again, telling me she made a new scent and wanted me to try...so she sent me another one !!! Now I have 8 of samples in cute containers :)

I believe the scents are: Blue Sugar, Tahitian Vanilla, Orange Chiffon Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Grape Cabernet, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cocoa Creme Brulee and Buttercream Frosting

Recently, I also received bath cream from Rainforest Soap Shack, great scents, great products, great selections. I really like this company, if only the shipping to U.S wasn't as expensive I would order from them monthly lol (then I guess it's a good thing, eh?)

Onto the comparison, the products I used here are Outtabody Mint Chocolate Chip and Rainforest Soap Shack Desperate Housewives.

I did test out the products on seperate day, as I wanted to know how long the scent would clung to my skin. I used the same arm just for the clear comparison, and although it seems like I used the Outtabody cream less, I did add a little bit more upon lathering in order to make a fair comparison.

Texture: Outtabody was firm, soft but a bit waxy, it can also used as a shaving cream so it was understandable for it to be really thick. Meanwhile, RFSS seems to be smoother and creamier.

Lathering: Outtabody lathers alright to a slightly clear foam, whereas RFSS does lather more with white milky foam.

Scent: During scrubbing, I could smell Outtabody scent but not strong. RFSS on the other hand gave a crazy amount of scent, even when I just started foaming it with water, it was incredible.

Afterbath: After I rinsed off and toweled, Outtabody left my skin soft but the scent was just lightly noticable. It could be a good thing so the scent wouldn't crash if you decide to put on moisturizer or perfume. RFSS left my skin even softer and the scent clung to my skin even after I walked out the bathroom. 2 hours after I could still smell it on my hand...

Personally, I'd prefer RFSS bath cream as it lathers ridiculously (i'm still 5 at heart LOL) and the scent just lingers so long, I almost couldn't believe it. Outtabody is nice too, especially the Mint Chocolate Chip I used, it's such a yummy minty chocolate-y scent with no fake note whatsoever, and if you look closely in the picture, there are actually chocolate chips in it. I went lol when I found it...

Bath creams does make my bath time a lovely experience, I love them as much as I adore scrubs, and I have so many scents to try..from Outtabody I've tried Tahitian Vanilla, Orange Chiffon Cake, Mint Chocolate Chip and Cocoa Creme Brulee...so far my fav is Mint Chocolate Chip : )

Oh, I did my nails yesterday after almost a month of abandoning my nails with chipped dark purple colors, I looked like I was belong in Emo group bahahaha

OPI Arrivaderci, classic.
(now they look more lady-like, right?)

My Evening Treat

It's October 15, a half month away to Halloween. Summer's air is long gone and I started collecting my fall scented fragrance......but dang it, Hawaii, why is it still scorching hot & humid? Poor kids who're gonna do trick & treating 'coz their chocolates candies would be fondue by the time they got home ...

While grunting and raising my fist to the empty sky I dug out my bakery shelf (read: the place I store all my bath & body products) and used these to brighten up my shower experience:

What I used are Philosophy Pumpkin Spice Muffin 3 in 1, Bissy's Boutique Pumpkin Crunch Noel Conditioner, Cleanse Your Soul Pumpkin Whipped Cream Roll-on and Rainforest Soap Shack Gourmet Sugar Cookies Body Frosting.

Yup, 3 pumpkin out of 4.

Here are the breakdown:

Philosophy makes great 3 in 1 although some of the scents are very generic to me *cough* Eggnog Latte *cough*. I love their Dark Chocolate, Mimosa, Caramel Apple, and Amazing Grace, although the price sometimes make my face scrunch. Now this pumpkin is a great pumpkin scent, just enough spice and not cloyingly sweet. It lathers wonderfully and the scent lingers, although it didn't come out as strong as in the shower. Really like it, I always showered 5 minutes longer whenever I use this one : )

I washed my hair with my regular Melaleuca Herbal Shampoo which smells like a fresh Green Apple (love it!) and it's my first time trying out the Pumpkin Crunch Noel conditioner from Bissy's Boutique that I got inside the Boo Bags. It smells a little less spicy compare to Pumpkin Spice Muffin because the pumpkin has been toned down by Vanilla Bean Noel blend. I adore the scent, the consistency is a bit weird, not too runy but not thick either, but it makes my hair feels sooo soft. The scent also lingers for hours. Another win from me.

CYS roll on that I got for free, my oh my, this Pumpkin Whipped Cream is so sweet, pumpkin scent is a bit heady and super sweet when first applied, but as it dries down, the scent seem to blend nicely and although people say this is supposed to be the least spicy pumpkin scent from CYS, I still think it's quite spicy, if not as spicy as Pumpkin Spice Muffin.

Are you tired of the word "Pumpkin" yet? lol

Well, RFSS Gourmet Sugar Cookies doesn't have pumpkin in it *I hear HAAAA-LELUYA!*, I got this cream as a freebies -which answers why the jar is so tiny- but somewhat this scent layered gracefully with those crazy pumpkin troops up there. The vanilla and cookie batter smells really believable, unlike most of Philosophy's cookies scents.

I went to bed smelling like pumpkin, whipped cream, vanilla, and cookie......not too bad huh?

Now if you excuse me I'll go turn on my air-con. Hi5 Emoticon

BITP vs RFSS Scrub War !

This would be a match between Because I'm the Princess's Vanilla Bean Noel scrub against Rainforest Soap Shack's Black Magic scrub.

I love scrub, I think scrub is the best bath product ever created because not only exfoliating, it's also rinsing & moisturizing skin like no other. Comparing these two scrubs is a challenge for me because now I realize there are many types of scrub and looking at the ingredients, you should know what these two suckers can do.

BITP

Ingredients:
Sugar, Turbinado Sugar (Sucrose), Butroyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Sterate, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methlyparaben,Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Potassium Sorbate, BHT, Sorbic Acid, Distilled Water, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Sodium Cocoyl, Isethethinoate Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate,Sodium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol,Hydrovance, Color, Fragrance and may contain Jojoba Spheres

RFSS
Ingredients:
Sugar, Organic Sugar Cane, Glycerin, Soybean oil, Coconut oil, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sorbitol, Propylene glycol, Disodium Lauryl sulfosuccinate, Stearic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Tetrasodium EDTA.

BITP scrub contains of Turbinado Sugar and that would be the scrubbiest among sugar scrub fambam. The only scrub harsher than turbinado is salt scrub, which I don't even bother trying. I hate slathering rocks on my skin LOL nah jk, I heard salt scrub does the best exfoliation.

Anyway, RFSS is less-harsher, although, if you look at the two scrubs sitting side by side, the BITP looks mushier, but don't be fooled, it's indeed containing more oil but the granules are bigger, thus, a little bit harsher. BITP scrub also contains glycerin, which makes it more watery *glycerin attracts water*, and parabens (this one is a downside).

Scooping test, RFSS is better in terms of firmness, it has great texture whereas BITP is more runny (I suppose because it contains more water). They both stay in place, as long as I don't hold them upside down =P

Once I slathered them on my arm, they both spread out nicely. BITP doesn't foam at all, but it doesn't dissolve too quick, which I prefer, so it can maximize its exfoliating duty. The only downside is probably a small fall out. RFSS dissolves quicker, but after I rub them, they becomes more foamy yet still scrubby. No fallout.

Moisturizing job; both work so well and left my skin sooooo soft.

Scent-wise: both lingers on skin even after I got out of shower, although RFSS Black Magic lasts longer. I am biased about this because Vanilla Bean Noel is a very subtle scent.

Which one I'd prefer? I greatly say I like RFSS better just because it's less messy & it foams without having parabens inside. Plus, it smells so darn good!

Thanx for reading!
