Sister's Prom & Recent FOTD

Whewww, all apologies for the lack of update but I've been pretty busy at home and been sleeping a lot lol not really a jet lag since it's been more than a week now. So here's another update, last night my sister, Amy, had her Prom so she asked me to do her makeup.

The theme is "Night in Paris" or something like that (lol) so I bought her this dress from Wet Seal, I thought it'd look cute on her. I also lend her my hat since it's "Paris"-y and it matches her hair really well. It wasn't hard doing Amy's hair because she wants it casual and the hat does all the magic. I just blow dried it & styled a little.

For her makeup I applied mineral makeup foundation and a darker foundation to contour her cheek. For blush I chose a soft mulberry color which gives her a healthy flush & use High Def.Powder from EG Minerals for finishing powder (makes her look poreless on pictures).

I did smokey purple for Amy's eyes using Urban Decay Fishnet for the main lid color, Stila Kitten for inner corner, and a dark purple from 96 Color Palette. Jordana Natural lip gloss was applied for the lip color, it's a gorgeous matte coral pink and look great against a slightly tanned face.

I think she looks cute (lol, no i'm not praising myself) but the most important thing is she was very happy on how everything's turned out & she had a blast. At the end of the night I still couldn't believe I just saw my baby sister going to her prom, time does fly, ladies & gentlement.

FOTD & Another Amazing Swap

I'm sure you have heard that Hawaii doesn't have Bath & Body Works AND Victoria Secret's store yet and I'm done feeling sorry for myself (lol) So I started to swap some of the scents I thought I might like, again, I can't sniff since there's no store to go to.

Remember I swapped and got myself Bath & Body Works Iced Tea Twist lotion? yeah...turned out my skin doesn't really like the scent so I put that one on swap. A person contacted me because she's interested on swapping, and long story short, we agreed on swapping with her Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace Body Splash.

I have heard mix opinion on this scent, some think it's too plain, some adore it, so I gave myself a try.

Today the goodies came and I'm SUPER excited when I saw extras she included.

Today I've exclusively been wearing Vanilla Lace and I am really liking it. It's more than just a Vanilla because I can smell Orchids, Musk and other lovely florals in it. The dry down is even better, a musky soft Vanilla that is not overly sweet.

Another thing I love about it, is that you can't overdone the scent, I've been spraying like crazy today, and the scent remains soft & not sickly overpowering.

Ssstttt I have Bath & Body Works Fresh Vanilla on the way from another swap, so stay tune for a comparison~

Lumiere blush is LOVE, I knew this already but I was still excited because I wanted to get Earth so badly, just never got around it. It's a gorgeous terracota color on my skin.

Bonne Bell Smackers is also great, we don't have it here in HI so I was really excited to try it out. The scent is a delicious berry, it's rather sour candy-ish berry and very fruity. I tried it on and omg, it made my lips so soft! I would definitely get more if they were around.

FOTD with Meow Cosmetics & Hauls

Done with Christmas shopping yet? =D

Here are my last 2 FOTDs when I used my new Meow foundation.

First one I'm pairing the foundation with Lush Blush in Crush. The foundation coverage is good, not too much as I would imagine, but the Lush Blush is gorgeous! Crush i's a pretty cool berry tone with dewy finish. I really like this line.

I decided to go natural (or ... minimalist? lol) since I'm lazy hehe and speaking of natural, I placed an order from AVON a while back.

I wanted to try their Naturals line (just the name, not really 'natural') because the Vanilla scents is supposed to kick ass.

Managed to snatch a free shipping code, I made an order for their sale item at that time, which was the Hand Cream. When it arrived, unfortunately the cream went plasticky on me. Good thing it's only 69 cents so I wasn't too pissed off. I kept trying and it's actually not too bad when it dries down.

I asked around the MUA board and turned out people had the same experience with the hand cream, and one nice lady mailed me to tell that the lotions is the one that smell the best out of all the line.

So being a curious kid that I am, I placed another order for the mini lotion, this time it was around 99 cent, so came out to about 1 bucks with tax.

Today they came in and THANK GOD she was right, the body lotion smells so much better, it's a nice soft Vanilla that you can layer with simply ANY scent. It's creamy but not heady or overly sweet, just a perfect Vanilla, if that makes any sense.

Oh and I am starting to use the color contacts my mom sent me, from Acuvue, the one in Hazel. I like the color, but my BF likes my dark eyes better, he said.

I think he's just jealous coz I copied his eye colors mwahahahaah just kidding..

Meow Haul & Updated Stash

I took an advantage of Meow Cosmetics Free Shipping sale during Cyber Monday, which happens rarely, and purchase their foundation.

If any of you care to read the ingredients of Mineral Makeups, you would notice the 'usual ingredients' they use

- Titanium Dioxide
- Zinc Oxide
- Iron Oxide
- Mica

Now, some company does add some additional ingredients like kaolin clay, boron nitride, ultramarines, calcium carbonate, or even bismuth oxychloride *ehm* Bare Escentuals *ehm* that has been recognized as the source of irritations/itchiness in mineral makeup.

Meow here has 3 different formulas for their foundation= Purrr-fect Puss, Pampered Puss, and Flawless Feline.
Puurr-fect Puss has the lightest coverage, whereas Flawless Feline does the heaviest job covering scars & discolorations.

Although I have many red scarring from acne and God knows how heavy I'd prefer my foundation to be, I chose Pampered Puss instead of Flawless Feline for 2 reasons.

One, Pampered Puss has the LEAST ingredients I've ever seen in Mineral Makeup. It only contains of= Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide and Iron Oxide. Yup, only 4. Flawless Feline contains Boron Nitride which I've heard from some people, they feel they're most likely allergic to it.

Second, I like the coverage, although it's medium-heavy, it looks and feels natural without looking cake-y.

So I went ahead and got the Pampered Puss Foundation in Munchkin size (which is perfect size for me) in my shade, Fierce Manx.

The Munchkin jar is comparable to Everyday Mineral's 25 ml Sifter Jar, although the picture seems like EDM is bigger.

I also sampled their other shade, Fierce Abyssinian and a Purrr-fect Cover Concealer (which can be mixed with foundation if I need more coverage) in Fierce Korat.
NOTE** Concealer runs 1 shade lighter so please keep in mind if you're ordering the concealer, make sure you order 1 shade DARKER than your foundation. The reason I ordered Fierce Korat is because they don't have concealer in Manx breed, and in Korat I'm wearing Naughty (lighter than Korat)

I asked for sample of Skinny Dip (which is supposedly an 'automatic face contour powder') and since I didn't tell them which shade they sent me these two. I haven't tried them but in a quick look Mau Medium looks too pink and Abyssinian Medium looks too light to be a contour. *shrug*

They're also kindly includes other samples of their newest line, Lush Blush in Hugs & Kitties, Felinus Interruptus (what a FOONEY name lol) and Crush.

Oh and yesterday I was re-organizing my shelf and just realized how humongous my Bath & Body Products stash..........I can only shower 2x a day, so I think I'll need 2138487623846 days to finish everything.............................*insert guilty face*

Meow Foundation Testing

Hi guys,

How's everyone weekend? Mine is just so-so, nothing really special, besides I'm getting ready to go up to North Carolina next week ^_^ Probably gonna stop by Vegas on the way home WOO HOO !!!! I can't wait, I've never been to Vegas so I'm really excited.

Today I went to watch Get Smart LoL it was hilarious, you can't go wrong with Steve Carell and my long time crush, The Rock *slurp* and geez, Anne Hathaway has some flawless long legs...it goes miles & miles, I'm not shittin' you. Just see for yourself, it's totally worth it.

I am testing out Meow foundation, this one I was using is the closest shade which is Naughty Korat in Pampered Puss formula. The staying power is pretty good and my face felt less oily at the end of the day. I was also using Camellia Rose Smoothing Primer version 2, I am addicted to the smell hmmmm... : P

I personally like the 2nd one a little bit better, it's more wearable & the olive green is just gorgeous : ) What do you think?

Oh and this is a lip swatch of SN Swept Away, as I mentioned before it looks pink-nude on me (although it's more pink on the pic) but it would show up much more pink and pigmented for fairer ladies.
