Swatch: Fanchromatic Nails - Direwolf

Hello!

Any of you ASOIAF enthusiast like me? If you don't know what that is, you've probably heard the more famous series based on it that HBO had picked up, Game of Thrones. I am personally a sucker of epic fantasy series, especially the ones that are a bit gory (don't judge) .. so when I've heard about the show I immediately knew I'd be all over it.

Now, if my last post I've mentioned about my long term admiration obsession for Jason Momoa , ever since Junior High (13 years and going strong YAY!!!) and I swear to you, I had no idea he would be in this series...so imagine my face when I watched the Pilot episode and saw this,
HOT. DAMN.

To sum up, he was "Khal Drogo", a bad-ass warlord of Dothraki people, who are pretty much a race of warlike nomads and love to travel in hordes, do barbaric stuffs like raping women, beheading enemies and value their horses more than anything. He was their leader because he kicked so much asses and had this uber long hair because.
... yep.

So, as you would have guessed, I LOVE this show so much albeit the future existence of Jason Momoa, because the story is just simply amazing. Also if you haven't seen any of it and decide to do so, I'd suggest buying the Blu Ray because the commentary is SO DAMN WORTH IT!

Anyway, the nail polish I'm about to show you has nothing to do with Khal Drogo (I know, right?! What a waste of time...lol) but it's related to a beloved family up in the North who are fathered by Sean Bean (YES, he dies in this one too...spoiler alert!) called House of Stark. They're like this slightly dysfunctional family (only because the bastard son lives with them, and the mother hates his guts although she's relatively kind and mother-like) and I said "slightly" because although they possess such tragic fate, they're much better than other families...trust me. Their house sigil is Direwolf, an extinct gene of wolves which is pretty much like your regular gray wolves only much bigger and scarier.
...... I know. Look at this terrifying creature. Run for your life.
This nail polish is by Fanchromatic Nails on Etsy, called "Direwolf". A warm taupe polish with white, brown, black, and copper glitters.

Without further ado, the swatches!!!

It reminds me of kitchen countertop's granite :)
Now, unfortunately Fanchromatic Nails is closed at the moment due to the owner's health problem, but they should be open soon, so if you're interested go check them out on Etsy or Facebook for info and sales.

Btw the new season of Game of Thrones starts this Sunday on HBO and although I don't have HBO I'll be excitedly waiting and downloading it illegally. Shhh.

Swatch: Scofflaw Varnish Sturm Und Drang

"Ask, and you shall receive."

Finally, the one polish that I've missed from Scofflaw is MINE.
MINEEEEEEE! *inserts Golum voice here*

I am not sure what Sturm Und Drang is but it sounds cool and slightly angry (like how Germans language sounds to me in general).......which, of course, makes it even cooler.

Imagine someone at work or your Starbucks barista asks you, "What nail polish are you wearing?" and you could just pause for a second to stare at them dead in the eye and hiss, "STURM UND DRANG.........." then sashay your way out.

Ugh, so cool.

Anyway, yes, yet another awesome polish as you may have guessed. The moment I saw it in Scofflaw's site, I knew I had to have it. Same reaction I had the first time I saw Jason Momoa, but I'm still working on that one

'Sturm Und Drang' is a pewter polish full of shimmer and scattered silver holographic highlights. It features glitters in aqua, silver, gunmetal, lavender, violet, and lime green.
Sturm Und Drang looks like a asphalt sprinkle with lettuce, ice cubes and radicchio. It's so unique and beautiful...

I just want to bask in all its glory
Sturm Und Drang
I really do hope any of you who participated in Scofflaw's 2nd launch got everything they wanted. Thank you again for reading my post :)

Til next time~

Swatch: Jindie Nails Barney Blew Up

Hello lovely readers!

I noticed I've gained several new followers over the past week so I'd like to take a second to greet you all and say HAY GURL HAY to everyone who's new (and my old readers who, God knows why, still reads my blog lol :P Bless your hearts!)

Today I've got a super interesting indie polish from Jindie Nails. I've been awful on updating my stash count and sharing them to you because there are plenty of polishes from Jindie that I've acquired since months ago in multiple occasions (aka impulse buys), I even have the ones with their old bottles. Never got around to swatch them, all I've done is collect, collect, collect.

HOARDER ALERT.

Anyway, let's just say this polish would be the start of my Jindie nail polish collection swatches and I can't find a better polish to use than Barney Blew Up.

No, not THAT Barney, although...how awesome is Neil Patrick Harris?
The answer is: LEGEN-wait for it-DARY! Shame of you if you don't know this one.

Barney Blew Up refers to this Barney,
hmm..yea..i don't think this one is the right pic either, but you catch my drift...

From Jindie Nails description:
"The base is a lilac crelly with a little lavender shimmer. Added to that are magenta, lavender and mauve metallic squares and hex, matte white hearts and hex, large and medium neon purple and neon green transparent hex."
Jindie Nails - Barney Blew Up
Isn't it a beauty? I personally adore the lilac & green combo, it's very unexpected!
It's also choke full of glitters and can get very crowded if you're not careful.
I'd suggest wearing "undies" (the polish, not you ...well, you too but it's irrelevant) prior to application.
I used Sinful Colors "Sweet Tooth", which has similar lilac tone.
There are heart-shape glitters in the mix but they are kind of hard to find and you need to 'fish' them out.
I did find one (on my ring finger) and it felt sorta like winning a lottery when the sucker came out lol
All swatches are 2 coats with Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth (base) Out The Door (top coat)
Close up shot because hot damn!
Mattified with Essie Matte About You
So if you like this one, head over to Jindie Nails store here or check out their Facebook for restock info & date. Trust me, you DON'T want to miss it because usually they sell like hot potatoes. Is that even a term...hot potatoes??? Whatever, I'm hungry and hot potatoes sound so good right now. Anyway, thanks for reading once again!

Update: Yea ok I just found out it's supposed to be "sell like hotcakes" ... omnomnom that sounds good too : / darn it

Swatch: Scofflaw Varnish Flotsam & Jetsam

Another Scofflaw polish???

You read that right! I have 3 new polishes to show you and this is one of them. It's called "Flotsam & Jetsam". Now, as you know the names of Scofflaw polishes are always amusing and have interesting background, so I looked it up and apparently, Flotsam & Jetsam is some kind of wreckage of a ship or cargo.
According to Scofflaw site,
"Flotsam is floating wreckage of a ship or its cargo. Jetsam is part of a ship, its equipment, or its cargo that is purposefully cast overboard or jettisoned to lighten the load in time of distress"
But I also found out that Flotsam & Jetsam is also a name of a chapter in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Tower book...which is kind of awesome. I'm a sucker for anything Tolkiens so this info kinds of floats my boat (HA!)
So Flotsam & Jetsam is a minty polish with a green shimmer, teal, purple holos and shred glitters.
Now, I always like mint polishes but shredded glitter terrifies me so I usually stay away from it...however something about Flotsam & Jetsam really takes my breath away. The shreds are actually very easy to manage, they don't stick up or poke around messily...and the glimmering teal are so nice against purple and the lighter mint of a base. It's gorgeous yet topsy-turvy...........like a beautiful chaos :)

Hey, they do look somewhat like a wreckage, now...don't they?

So far there is not a single polish from Scofflaw I do not like...........and this is BAD because I might end up buying the rest of her collection uh ohhhh /broke

Anyway they're planning to restock the whole store on March 17th so make sure you'll be there for the emotional turmoil that is "Trying to buy things on Etsy without getting cart-jacked". I know I will.

Swatch: Polish Revolution Eleganza

Happy hump day!

Today I have a swatch of an indie polish by Polish Revolution. I think I've found out about this seller some time around last year during Christmas when I was searching for a nice, holiday polishes. One of their product caught my eye but unfortunately I was a bit too late because it wasn't available anymore, so ever since I've always monitored their restock activity. Along the way, there was yet another new ish polish that I really liked so when that Christmas polish was finally available earlier this year, I decided to cave in and make an order.
Zombie Christmas & Eleganza
You could probably guess which one is the Christmas-themed polish :) but this time I'd like to focus on the purply goodness on the right, Eleganza.
Eleganza is a creamy light purple base with brown, copper, and holographic orange and turquoise glitter

Onto the swatches!
2 coats, no base, Out The Door TC

Application was easy and smooth, no glitter fishing necessary! Check out Polish Revolution on their Etsy store and Facebook for more info and restock update.

By the way I just turned 27 yesterday (omg!) and we went for Yakiniku last night. My fiance also surprised me with a Spa voucher for some "me" time. Ahhhhh bliss! :)

Swatch: Scofflaw Varnish Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

The last Scofflaw polish I own so far, is the one that got me hooked into this brand. I have a thing for teal and red color together so this particular polish surely grabbed my attention the moment I laid my eyes on it. If this sounds like a sappy romance novel summary to you, then I'm afraid you might be right because this polish and I have bright future together ahead of us and there is nothing you can do about it lol just kidding but not really..

Onto the important thing, the name. Yes, the name, indeed...it's Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
Whiskey.
Tango.
Foxtrot.
ICWYDT, Finch...
Obviously, I would have bought this polish for its name alone if the actual product wasn't supergasmic:
I had died, swum to the nail polish heaven and came back

This is what was stated over at Scofflaw Varnish site
"Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a teal jelly base packed with red, white, gold and brown glitters of various shapes and sizes. The term comes from scientists studying foxes in Alaska that had eaten saw grass, which acts like a heavy drug. The foxes lose motor control and move in a jittery way that almost appears like drunken dancing (LIES LIES my pants are on fire. We all know what whiskey tango foxtrot means)."
LOL YES WE DO!
Feast your eyes on the beauty that is WTF!

Added some Essie Matte About You and died all over again
I'm not sure why or how it happened, but there was some cool gradient-like effect happening when I mattified this shizz.....it makes me so happy like you wouldn't believe.
Anyway, that concludes my Scofflaw Varnish swatches. I may pick up a few more once she restock and you will definitely see them here again if I do.

Check out their Etsy store and Facebook for info and sales.
