FOTD: Sonia Kashuk Neutral Palette

Hello my beautiful people,

Last weekend a good friend of mine, Windy, who now lives in Singapore came back to Jakarta. We haven't seen each other for almost 2 years so I was super excited to see her. Windy's older sister, Cindy, is getting married and she asked me if I could help her to pick some of items she needed for wedding makeup.

We met up at Plaza Senayan, Ai also came along, but I wasn't feeling so well that day and woke up late lol. I joined them after lunch and we went straight to Metro & Sogo to look for makeups. Cindy needed a foundation and I suggested her Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation which will stay longer, especially for wedding & photo shoot. She has super clear skin (i'm so jealous T_T) so no extra concealer needed.

I chose Oily/Combination formula in Nude shade for her and it seemed to match her face & neck the best. Here are pictures I took right after I applied it on her half of the face, I think it's necessary to take a picture when choosing a foundation because it's important not to look like you're wearing a mask when you have your pics taken, right?

*natural light & flash*

Cindy said she likes the finish & it actually feels light on her skin. She also bought a synthetic foundation brush to apply the liquid foundation. Then we sat down at Starbucks and caught up with stuffs we've been missing out. Windy & Ai were my closest friend when we were in Japan and we could gossip for hours til we fell asleep. Our pillow talks were the best, I remember one time Windy stayed over and we both were already really drowsy on the bed but we kept talking until we both had no idea what we were talking about. We were like "Huh? What did you say? What did I say?" lol

Windy, Cindy & I

I haven't touched my Sonia Kashuk Neutral Palette for a looong time and now I realized it's very convenient for those of you who love neutral colors. It has both shimmer & matte finishes so you can switch up according to your preference. For this look I apply #1 all over lid, #4 on outer V and #5 to deepen my socket.

Haul of The Day: Traincase

Well, my makeup collection has indeed grew unshamefully for the last 2 years and I knew someday I would need a bigger storage and something I could take around with me. I had my small black case I bought from Muji 無印良品 years ago, but it can no longer hold my growing foundations collection, let alone all my eyeshadow palettes.

I have been searching online and although the price was tempting, the shipping cost wasn't..especially to Hawaii which MOSTLY always require extra cost. So I was walking around at Ace Hardware in Jakarta couple days ago and I saw this cute black leather traincase and price tag was only $49.99 O.O I thought my eyes fooled me but it turned out they were having this "election sale" haha I compared to another store which sells the exact same thing but the price was doubled the one at Ace Hardware, so we came back and bought it.

I remember seeing this exact bag at Yazmo.com and it costs around $79.95, you can check it out here.

I like how it's not too big and heavy so now I have something to store all my little jars & palettes.

isn't he gorgeous???

Yay for new home !!

I also met up with my friends at Taman Anggrek Mall and we had a blast, it's always enjoyable to be surrounded by people you like and can talk for hours & hours. We decided to ate at Fish & Co which is a Seafood restaurant. The food was pretty decent, but I like the relaxed environment...really nice for a rendezvous =D

I love Neutrals, Awards & Babies !

If you noticed I've been doing a lot of FOTD nowadays, well that's because I haven't actually hauled anything =D so I gotta make up with something, right? Here's the one I did yesterday when I was out to drop off my mom to the airport.

I'm keeping the eyes neutral coz there's no need to look bright & intense, besides the older I get the softer I'd prefer my eyes to be...lol idk why, it just happened ok? Tho I added a blue liner on my lower lashline to brighten up brown eyes and it worked like a charm for my tired eyes too.

For face, again I'm keeping it simple with my new favorite mineral foundation, Pure Anada in Niagara Fawn shade which offers great coverage, so great I hardly use concealer anymore. A soft bronzer to contour and peach blush were used on cheeks.

So I've been awarded by couple of fellow bloggers but I'm terribly sorry for not reacting to them straightaway. Kia of Yummy411 gave me this award which surprised me coz it should have been the other way around =) I always enjoy reading her reviews & I always thought she's super nice and talented....so if you're reading this, Kia....THANKS A LOT !!!! I'm trully honored and humbled to receive this from you.

Ai of daily ramblings of moi also gave me these lovely awards (they're so many haha)

thanks, Ai.....it's always nice getting these from someone I know as a person because you know it's a genuine appreciation, or at least I hoped so hahahaha (jk). I'm glad you reactivated your beauty blog again, although that means you're getting more broke with new lemmings. I'll always be your greatest enabler.....don't forget that ^^.

Oh when I was at the mall, my mom & I met her friends with her baby and her nephew and they are SUPER CUTEEEEEEEEEEEE. Her son is 5 months old and he's so chubby, I had hard time keeping him in my arms coz he's very heavy. What's funny is that his face expression always looks angry, but he was actually sleepy =P

Look at my mom having hard time holding this little guy.
He's a very friendly & happy baby =D

ahhhhhhh I love babies~

Congrats, Amy!

Yesterday I went to my sister's graduation, yup...my baby sister's now officially a college student. That's a scary thought, but I'm excited and ecstatic for her, she's been asking me "Which one is more fun, high school or college???"

I answered "college", it's a no brainer for me but being totally honest with you, I was scared shitless after I finished high school, I had great friends there and it was just too hard for me to move on. The joke's on me because my college time turned out to be the best 4 years in my life, but I guess I wouldn't have known by then.

Anyway, as usual I was asked to do her makeup & hair....and since the graduates were asked to wear Kebaya (Indonesian traditional dress), Amy asked if she could wear her hair up and do a low small bun. Thank god for mom's fake bun (don't ask!) so I only had to tie her hair in a small pony tail and hide it under the bun.

Here's the funny thing, Kebaya that she wore is actually mine and I wore it on my college graduation day which was 2 years ago. So now it's an official graduation kebaya lol

Here are pictures I took,

Amy's got the medal

They are my sister's sidekicks...
you know you have one back in highschool~ hahaha

Her with her bestfriend from grade 7, Aldo.
I kinda wish they were going out lol
he's cute, nice & polite...

With me in the car,

Me & mom,
dunno why she looks ghostly -_-'

Make Your Own Palette Part 2

So I made another palette, this time it was my pressed blushes that have been swarming around in my drawer, I found it's a pain if I wanna travel with them as they have to be stacked and eat up so much room.

If you remember I did a post on how I made my own palette out of DVD case here, it's actually the same concept, except I made it prettier & cleaner LOL Most of my blushes (other than my mineral blushes, which up to this point are uncountable -_-' so I gave up.) are La Femme. They're super pigmented & gorgeous. Here's the original packaging

Here's after I depotted & put them into the DVD case along with other blushes

Isn't it a cool peek-a-boo picture from the cover? lol

I finally decorated the palettes, using a magazine articles about COCO CHANEL,
I really like the retro touch in it

So here are the MIY Palette, a good way to save some $$ and efficient for travelling & storing.

FOTD: I'm Olive?

It's been a while since I posted FOTD, and in case you all forget how I look like, here is my recent picture with new stuffs I was trying. I honestly don't remember when this was taken but it's most probably last week when I was testing out new shade foundation from EG Minerals.

Honestly the foundation pictures at EG Minerals are misleading, I spent so much time going back & forth reading the explanation just because the order and shades are off, well, few of them.

I tried many shades ranges from Yellow family in Cover Me & Youthful Glo formula, but just recently I branched out to Olive family because I noticed most of yellow shades I tried look too orange.

I'm happy that I think I've found my shade, it's Aileen (Tan golden olive foundation) from Cover Me formula.
---> Looks very olive here but for some reason it blends nicely into my skin and cover all the redness & marks I have from past acne scarring.

Face
EG Minerals Facial Primer Gel
EG Minerals Aileen (foundation)
EG Minerals High Definition Pro (finishing powder)
SN Poppy (blush)
La Femme Soft Beige (contour)

Eyes

EG Minerals Golden Brown (crease)
EG Minerals Cafe Au Lait (highlight)
NYX Golden (1/3 outer V)

NYX Apricot l/g

Then I changed my lips to a bolder color, and here is a combo of

2 Cheeks, 2 Many Blushes !

My eyes are BURNING !! !! !!

I only slept for 2 hours :'(

Today Playstation 3 Metal Gear Solid IV bundle was released nation wide, and being with such a big time gamer bf, I had to voluntarily *cough cough* joined the long ass line waiting in front of Best Buy....

since 1 o'clock IN THE MORNING !

*faints*

We arrived at the spot around 1 and already the 3rd in line, I had no idea what time those people in front of us got there. We figured it'd be a bitch sitting on the ground for the entire night so we brought along our lawn chair (I felt so retarded at first but couldn't help but thanking the comfy spacey chair that saved us the night), umbrella (ella...ella...*shush* to anticipate sun/rain), lotsa junkies, and some entertainment to keep our selves sane (my I-phone actually did an awesome job). My bf fell asleep comfortably right after we got there, I was lyk wtf? What am I gonna do here? LOL but yes, I couldn't sleep at all and ended up spending the night by stuffing my face with chips & cookies.

My short conclusion, Games = Fat.

*woot*

So after we waited for almost 9 hours, the door was finally opened around 10 AM, but GEEEEEEEBUUUSSSSS, the sun was terrible...I swear if I broke an egg we could have had omelette for breakfast this morning.

We rushed into a heavenly air-con Best Buy and finally walked out with big grin and big box of PS3MGS4 (this reminds me of Chemisty lol)

You belong to us now MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

ANYWAY !

onto the fun thing, today I received 2 packages and they are both blushes! It was Blush-Blasted :D

First was from Makeupmania.com where I ordered 4 La Femme Blush On Rouge blushes, I got Soft Beige, Mulberry, Golden Rose, and Golden Sunset
Natural Light, no base
With Flash, no base

Soft Beige: (matte) Muted brown with just a pink tint. I plan to use it as a bronzer ^_^
Mulberry: (matte) Very loud light fuchsia. I adore this one, very pigmented.
Golden Rose: (shimmery) Dark pink with gold specks. Very unique, the golden specks is very subtle.
Golden Sunset: (shimmery) Orangey coral pink. Must have, period! Definitely my summer blush.

I officially fell in love with La Femme blushes, they're worth all the rave I've been hearing about, and I have to say their CS is da bomb, they're super helpful : )

k, NEXT !

A friend of mine @ Vox, Melissa, had a summer cleaning for her unused mineral makeups and was giving away some of her stuffs. I chose blushes coz the foundations are way too light for me, and blushes are universal : ) I also bought her Magnetism Indelibe Gel Liner (review later) for $4.00 which was still 99%, only some brush strokes on the surface, otherwise it's perfectly fine.

These are the oh-so-lovely-freebies blushes pic:

Natural Lighting

With Flash
All Smiles (EDM), Rapunzel Had Extensions & Hypnotize (Fyrinnae), Sunrise & Dusty Rose (Aubrey Nicole)

My Fav: all Aubrey Nicole's and Hypnotize...so gorgeous!

and

LOL @ Rapunzel Had Extensions !!!

who the hell came out with such a name lol I thought 'Burn Your Bras' from The She Space February limited edition is the nuttest of the nuts...*rofl*

Ok, no more blush-buying for the next 5 years.
