NOTD: Turquoise Gemstone ( Waterspotted Nail Art )

Hey guys!

A quick post on a mani I did today. It's called "Turquoise Gemstone", where I was trying waterspotted mani for the first time. I've seen this technique a lot, starting from watermarble nail art which I'm not really a fan of, but this particular style actually looks cool.

What I did, basically:
1. Paint my nails with turquoise nail polish (I used Icing Marine Blue), let it dry.
2. Fill a plastic cup/container with water (preferably filtered and room temperature).
3. Drop a dollop of black nail polish (I used WnW Black Creme) and make sure it dissolve within the surface of water, it'd look grayish and transparent.
4. Quickly spray any liquid containing alcohol (I used perfume, you can use hairspray or spray-able hand sanitizer) on the dissolving polish. This should "crack" the smooth surface into random spots.
5. Dab your nails on those spots. Wait 10 seconds before you lift up your fingers from the cup.
6. Dab gold nail polish (I used SH X-treme Golden-I) randomly on the empty spots very lightly.
6. Clean up. Apply top coat.

It does take a lot of practice & trial/error since not all nail polish dissolves nicely on water, also the alcohol spray..sometimes they don't work if the nail polish has been left for too long in water.
I think it's so cool to try and you could even use more than 1 color if you like.

Tip: Tape your fingers around the nail beds with scotch tapes, it's simplify the annoying process of cleaning process. Trust me, you would want to do this.

Have fun & experiment!

NOTD - Mother Earth

I'm baaaaaaack!!!!!

I know, right? It's about damn time.

Well, honestly I'm always surprised to see you, my dear new followers because in my mind no one reads this blog anymore these days. I'm so bad at addressing any of you, so I'd like to take advantage at this awkward "Guess who's back...back again...?@$*&" moment to say WELCOME TO MY BLOG and hope you find what you're looking for and not regretting following me...but if you are then I'd like to apologize because I suck at this nowadays and I don't blame you.

So now I'd like to post some cool (at least I think so heheh) mani I did a while ago, inspired by our mother earth.
I used dabbing method using alcohol and 3 colors + white base

 Cool, no?

NOTD: Easter Bunny

Trying to be all cutesy with my mani today. I decided to use this adorable indie polish called "Rainbow Jello - Easter Edition" from The Polish Bar and partner it with some bunny and dots.

Used:
The Polish Bar - Rainbow Jello Easter
Sinful Colors - Sweet Tooth
Sinful Colors - Sugar Rush
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White
Sally Hansen - Breezy Blue
Wet 'n' Wild - Black Creme
Seche Vite
I really love Rainbow Jello...it's so festive yet still very delicate.
The application is also great, used 3 coats on its own :)

Happy Easter, dear readers!

NOTD: Minnie Mouse

Hey loves,

Happy President's day to all fellow Americans. Today I have a quick post on what I wore on Valentine's Day. I usually don't wear cutesy or overly pink shades but this year I somehow wanted to do something special and actually made an effort to do nail art.

This is what I call "Minnie Mouse" mani, although I didn't intend to do so (lol) and I was pleased to achieve the retro feeling that matte finish gives. What I used:

  • Essie Silken Cord
  • Sinful Colors Snow Me White
  • WnW Black Creme
  • Essie Matte About You
  • Dotting tools
  • Nail Brush
Supporting my current fav perfume, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb La Vie En Rose
Thanks for reading!

Christmas Nails Spam !!!

Hey guys,

Merry Christmas! Hope you all have a wonderful time & celebration. I know I did :)

I've been wearing many Christmas-themed nail polishes and also did some Christmas nail arts lately, to celebrate the birth of Jesus (hehehe) and I'd like to share some with you.

Nightmare Before Christmas

 Ok maybe it's Halloween/Christmas themed...
but I really enjoyed doing this as I am a big fan of Tim Burton's amazing artistry

Christmas Costumes
 Inspired design isn't mine :)

I Love NP
I've got 2 polishes from I Love Nail Polish, an Etsy seller who creates AMAZING polishes. I will do in-depth review soon, but for now here are swatches 2 of their Winter collection. Check them out here and here.

Up To Snow Good

Something About Merry
(the last 2 pics were mattified)

All That Glitters
Yet another amazing indie seller on Etsy named All That Glitters. Their clear polish with red, green hex and bar glitters is just AWESOME. Worn over WnW Saved by The Blue :)

Spotty Dottie Holiday

DIFFERENT dimension
This polish is called Christmahanakwanzika (say that 3x ^^) from Different Dimension on Etsy. It's pretty much a bottle of fun holiday colors. It reminds me of a fruitcake.

Thank you for checking it out!

NOTD: The Avengers nails

So I was inspired by the ultimate assembly of cool peeps full with demigods, gadgets and testosterone. Unfortunately, the way I do my nail art is always cartoonish and cute lol but I'm quite content with how they all turn out. My favorite would be Thor :)

I hope everyone's seen this movie because it's the shit, yo!

Oh, and I will try my best to update this blog more often. I have a couple of interesting things lining up for you guys : ) HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!

NOTD: Ice Cubes on Asphalt

This would be my last week mani which I forgot to upload. I saw a cool design on Tumblr and thought, "Hey, I have that Konad plate!" (btw I still chuckle when I hear the word "Konad" coz it reminds me of gonads. What the hell is wrong with me? I never grow up.) Anyway, the design is in m73 plate and the base color is Wet'n'Wild Black Creme (the best, 1 coater, jet black polish I've ever tried). The silver color for the ice cubes is Revlon Silver Screen, a rather "meh" color on its own but turns out to be a gorgeous stamping polish. I decided to make it matte and used Essie Matte About You as top coat.

Hope you like it!
