Part 2: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Follow up of my last post on Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, I did go and pick up 2 other colors and ended up loving these. Walgreens is having BOGO 50% on the new Revlon products, including the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain so if you want to try them, try them NOW :)

The two other colors I got are Honey Douce and Cherish Devotion aside from the Lovesick Passionnee I already picked up earlier. Honey is a brownish pink color, a really nice and neutral pink which leaves a MLBB stain. Cherish is a gorgeous rose pink color.

Product Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Recently Revlon had come out with their new & improved lip stain/balm hybrid shizz which are called Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain.

Try say that 3 times.

I noticed people have been saying that this particular line is a dupe of Tarte LipSurgence and Clinique Chubby Sticks but since I've never owned those two products, I can't really say much in that area. However, I'm reviewing these for what they worth and what they claim to be.

Ok, first of all they look like fat crayons, which is cute...and they have this sweet minty candy initial scent. After a while the scent would disappear so if you're not a fan of fragrances on makeup products, don't worry about it. Having said that, actually the scent is not bad at all, you know. I could think of worse fragrances they could have put in there instead of mints.......like bacon or something. I love bacons but I don't want to give people impressions that I eat bacon whenever I apply this stuff, you know what I mean?

Alright, since this post is not about bacon, we should move along.

Does this balm/stain do what they promise to do? Yes and No.

Yes because they do stain my lips and not in a gross way. The stain looks very even on my lips, unlike most of lip stain products out there, and they last quite a while too. No because although this applies like lip balm, they're not the most moisturizing thing ever (still better than Revlon Lip Butters tho). You can always apply Carmex or whatever lip balm you'd like prior to this although that would defeat the purpose now, wouldn't it?

The color that I have is called Lovesick and it is a bright, gorgeous fuchsia pink. This color stains my lips as if I've been eating too much berries.

Do I like it? Yes, I quite do...surprisingly. What I like to do as an alternative, is to apply it all over, blot it with tissue so that I would be left with just the stain, and then apply lip glosses over it. I also like to use it as a base for my lipsticks that are too pale to be used on their own.

So far I only have Lovesick but perhaps in the near future I would get two or three more colors.This was $8.99 but I'm pretty sure you can find them cheaper on other places. I found mine at my local Target, not sure if the drugstores here in the island have them yet since we're always 2 weeks behind on pretty much EVERYTHING :'(

Maybelline Baby Lips Swatches & Review

Finally got around to review this product which was raved since last winter. I had to make multiple trips to various drugstores and also Walmart to find these because they never had the complete shades or even the ones I wanted. Now that I think about it, I'm quite certain these three were purchased at three different locations lol.

Maybelline Baby Lips are moisturizing lip balms and most of them are tinted or have colors in them. I picked the three most pigmented ones because honestly, I have too many unused clear lip balms lying around and did not need another one.

In terms of moisturizing property, I think they're pretty good. They're not the most moisturizing thing ever, but I do find them useful as a layering base whenever I feel like slapping my matte lipsticks. The pigmentation is mild, unlike Revlon Lip Butters I reviewed here...but I think they're not supposed to be overly pigmented in the first place anyway so I can't say I was disappointed at all.

The scents are fabulous, they're fruity and each balm has their individual scent according to the name. My favorite one out of the three is the Grape Vine because it smells just like grape popsicle :) The Pink Punch is the most opaque one, it has that cute baby pink color. Cherry Me is the most versatile one as it gives just a pop of color on your lips and is great under a nude lipstick if you don't want to look too "nude" if you know what I mean?

They sell for about $3-$4 depending on the drugstores, I'd say try them if you haven't because they're pretty good and if you don't dig the tinted lip balms, they have the clear ones too and people have been saying they're also great and moisturizing.

Product Focus: Bubbletub Lip Balm

Fall is approaching and what's worse than a dry lips due to colder weather? Well..there are "runny noses" and "abrupt weight gains" but those are the topics you need to discuss with your doctors (lol). Quality
They're very moisturizing and doesn't leave you the weird wax feeling. The scents are absolutely scrumptious, I tried on the Punk'n Pie today and it's so tasty, just enough spice and warmth. I can't wait to try the rest. Based on the my sniff-ability, they're all really good. Toasted Marshmallow is a nice yummy gooey marshmallow scent, Buttery Toffee smells so good just like a toffee crunch. Chai Tea is a great fall scent but Lime Sugar is really mouthwatering, smells like a sweet candied lime and it's very refreshing.

I love Free Shipping, ever since gas price increased I have been really enjoying shopping online. REVIEW
I have been wearing Quince for couple of days now, and now I have 1 or 2 words to say.

Love: Love the texture & shade, it's a gorgeous soft pink on my lips. I also like the light feeling I've got from the balm. It's not waxy or heavy at all. Other thing I like is the SMELL, exactly like rose petal. Not cloying or fake plastic smell, it's actually very soft and pretty.. just like flowers hehe. But the most important thing is, it does give my lips a natural and nice rosy tint even after the shine goes away, looks like I've been sucking cherry lolipop. Effortless <3>Loathe: Probably the fact that it's not super moisturizing, I've had better lip balm, like C.O.Bigelow Mentha Lip Balm Stick with SPF 15 (which is my HG lip moisturizer) but it does an O.K job. I also don't like the price LoL I wouldn't get it unless I had a gift card or it's on sale or smthn...Another thing, if you have chapped lips, it's actually will accentuate the dryness, I usually exfoliate prior to applying this balm.

Overall: I really like the shade and the 'tint' it gives, but I'm not 100% loving it as I'd prefer a better moisturizing lip balm who does double job. I'll continue using it because the color is really really pretty, I apply it like every 10 minutes now LOL I'm addicted. But I'd love to try other kinds of balm, maybe L'oreal HiP Jelly Balm? Anyone tried that?

Quick Note: Pomegranate color is UBER PRETTY if you're looking for a perfect coral tint. Plum is also gorgeous, I don't find Wild Rose any special...in fact it's almost too dark for me.


Ok, so on the day I got Sephora package, I also got another box...which confused me. I didn't purchased anything else other than MEOW but it doesn't say anything Meow-y on the address. It only said someone's name & address.

When I opened, I found these:

OMG right? no note or anything....then I remembered it must be a RAOK. An MUA-ers whom I swapped with was giving away stuffs and she must have kept my address coz she sent me these lovely creams.

I'm honestly not a really big fan of LUSH, as I always get headache whenever I stepped into the store..it's like every item is screaming loudly with its strong scent, asking to be bought. That's quite scary. And that's why I could never enjoy sniffing around without being overwhelmed. So when I received these Mad City Sue's creams of LUSH dupe I was a little worry I might not like them.

But boy I was wrong.

Flying Fox is a gorgeous jasmine scent, I have to admit, it's a strong floral, but once applied, it mellows down to a more sweety & calm scent, with honey note. (The Soy Cream she sent me was still stealed!!! so it's Brand New OMG)

Bathos, again, a jasmine scent with a pretty violets scent. It's hard to explain what 'violets' scent smells like, if it's a color I could just show you a picture, but sadly enough we dont have Smell-o-vision here. It has a powder kick in it. Very relaxing.

Victorian Violets is not a LUSH dupe, but it's also a floral scent, which smells VERY sophisticated. It reminds me of a tea, but a very good-smelling tea.....When I sniffed it couple of times it started to remind me of a garden with colorful flowers in it, the one where you can run around without feeling bored because it just smells so darn pretty.

I have to admit, I wouldn't have picked these scent right off the bat because I tend to like fruity and foody scent but it's always nice to explore and go out of your comfort zone because you'll never know what you've been missing. I don't know exactly how close the dupes with original LUSH tho, they could be smelling better than LUSH's LoL

Review

Mad City Sue makes great great great products, I enjoy her Foaming Scrubs and Cream Soaps very much but I was honestly hesitant to try anything 'butter' as moisturizer because I never needed that much moisturizer and I hate feeling greasy throughout the day.

But the Soy Cream Body Butter proved me wrong. Although it's thick, it spreads out so easily and sinks in right away, this is one hell of a body butter I have to say. It leaves your skin so soft, moisturized, and smelling pretty.

Tutorial: How to MIY Tinted Lip Balm

I have some lip balms that are either old or BLAH, meaning very plain and just sitting there alone in the corner without being used. At the same time I also have tons of blush sample I hardly use, some are too dark some are too light.

Today I did some experiment on combining those pity neglected babies and was able to create something interesting.

What you need is:

• Lip balm / Chapstick / Vaseline
• Container (either pots or tube)
• Blush (I'd prefer mineral and make sure it's lip-safe)
• Napkin (this experiment could get messy)
  
• Tooth Pick
• Metal Spoon
  
• Flat Iron (If you're afraid to wreck your iron, you could use Microwave as the heating tool instead)
  

Here's HOW:

First, heat up your Flat Iron to maximum setting then take the chapstick out of the container (or Vaseline) and place it on the metal spoon.


Then, you placed the spoon on the flat iron, wait until it's melted.


Once it's melted, take it out but be careful, DON'T SPILL !


Then, add the desired amount Blush you prepared, you could slowly add until you meet the shade you like. Don't worry if it looks dark, this would be a TINTED lip balm so it wouldn't show up as dark as it looks.


Mix with toothpick, again, beware of spilling... This is the shade I wanted so I stopped there.


After that, carefully pour the liquid into the container you have, mine happened to be a tube.
--> HA HA I spilled !!!

After that, you wait until it's dry


If the amount of balm or Vaseline you're using too much for the spoon, you could do 2 batches, meaning used the 50%, heat up, mix, pour and repeat for the 2nd batch. This probably would be better as you can give time for the 1st batch to dry up and be solid.

Email Me and Gleeful were mixed to make a MLBB muted pink shade while Brick was used alone.

Another fun thing is, I got to name my own lippy !!!! hahahaha

I know the tube looks kinda messy-looking, but hey, not bad for a first timer, right? LoL besides it's FUN and finally I could use some stuffs rather than throwing them away.

We all could use some Recycle & Reuse once every now & then~ So I hope you find this entry somewhat useful.

TIPS: If you find your balm is quite drying, you could add 2-3 drops of carrier oils (Jojoba, Grapeseed, Kukui or whatever you like) into the mixing.
