Revlon Lip Butter Swatches & Review

Herro der beautiful people,

This would be a long overdue post I've been meaning to do ever since everyone was jizzing about Revlon Lip Butter. Apologies for the mental image, but it was almost true because these little suckers were raved everywhere. Living in one of the world's most beautiful places obviously have its perks but since we're also very much isolated and literally in the middle of Pacific Ocean, sometimes we don't always get things shipped here fast enough.

Therefore, yes, we didn't get Revlon Lip Butters until the beginning of this year...unlike drugstores in mainland which started carrying it since Fall/Winter 2011. Having said that, it's always better late than pregnant never, so here is my take on the product and some swatches for your hungry eyes.

I only bought four in the shades of: Pink Tuffle, Tutti Frutti, Lollipop, and Sugar Plum. However my local CVS (called Longs Drugs) had almost all of them opened and available to swatch, so here's my quickie swatches:
As you can see, they are very glossy and pigmented. I was actually surprised by the color payoff of the darker shades like Raspberry Pie and Cherry Tart. Creme Brulee is so pretty but on my pigmented lips they just go on clear and gives me that dead look so that one is a no-go. Tutti Frutti was chosen over Peach Parfait (not in the pic) because I just can't deal with the sparkles in Peach Parfait although the color is more appealing to me. Berry Smoothie is so gorgeous as well, but I chose Sugar Plum instead (they look pretty close irl) because it's just a tad darker, less vibrant and muted...appropriate for office.

So, here are the ones I bought:
  • Pink Truffle: brownish pink (great for brightening complexion if you just want to add some color to you face)
  • Tutti Frutti: wearable orange (think of a sheerer version of Revlon Siren I reviewed here. Gorgeous!)
  • Lollipop: bright fuchsia (surprisingly not too in-yo-face bright, just enough to make a statement)
  • Sugar Plum: muted brown with plum tinge (looks kinda dark in the tube but it has the sheerest consistency among all. It's soft and lovely.)

The formula is amazing (it's like a combo of lip balm + lipstick + lipgloss) and you could definitely build them up to very vibrant if you want. The name "Lip Butter" is quite appropriate because they are also really soft, like butter. And speaking of butter, it reminds me of Paula Deen.

Anyway, oh yeahhhhhhhh lip swatches yeaaaaahhhhh:

 Revlon Lip Butter Pink Truffle

 Revlon Lip Butter Tutti Frutti

 Revlon Lip Butter Lollipop

  Revlon Lip Butter Sugar Plum

Excuse the weird lighting and shiny face...it was the end of the day and I tried my best to not look as poopy.

Revlon Lip Butters are sold for around $7 in most of drugstores available in your area but you can always get them for less during the BOGO 50% off deal.

Happy Sunday & thanks for reading!!!
