Product Focus: Haus of Gloi

Are you tired of good smelling stuff review yet? :P

Well, you shouldn't be! because this particular post is the one you would not wanna miss.
I made an Etsy order from a new young company called Haus of Gloi.

The owner named Britton and she's still very young yet super talented. All her scents are personally hand-mixed, with a little magical touch of her own finery.

What trigger my decision to try Haus of Gloi is the scrub called Pumpkin Queen. It looks so sinful and the scent also sounds very appealing. 2 other sample scrubs just kind of jumped into my Etsy cart.
I know Britton gives free sample for orders so I shamelessly mailed her asking if I could request the scent, which is Vice.

Vice is her newest scent and in a second you would understand WHY I went out of my way to try it. She replied me saying no problem & would include it in my order =) I like her already.

Within less than a week my order was ready to ship and it arrived on the next 3 days. I was so excited ripping through the box & I could quickly smell the heavenly baked pumpkin. So I dug & dug, and I was like "Wait...there are 3 sample jars and I only ordered two!" O MY GOD, Britton gave me an extra scrub sample to try! I also saw 2 soap samples (one of them is Vice). My boyfriend walked in and said "You look so happy, what's up, you won a lottery?" lol It kinda felt like I did.

Packaging

I mean......just look at them. I was simply in an awe looking at her labels, it was gorgeously printed on a coffee-stained paper. I'm not really a cutesy Disney fairytale kind of girl, this kind of romantic gothic & darker style fits me better. I always have a respect for an e-tailer who took time to create an art for their label, I think it would give nothing but to their own advantage because those gorgeous labels and drawings did really lure me in. Anyway, the labels are all waterproof and all the jars also came in individuals plastic wrap & sealed. Stupid Hawaii weather does melt the sugar a little, but Britton has predicted this so she instructed me to store the scrubs in the fridge for an hour or two, then stir so the oils & sugar would be mixed well.

Product
I ordered Sugar Creme which is explained,

"Gloi sugar crème are majestic! First, I begin with organic cane sugar for skin renewing exfoliation. Second, is pure shea butter, and lots of it too! You will also find nutrient dense, non-greasy apricot kernel oil, olive oil and sweet almond oil. A true skin confection!"
I have tried so many type of sugar scrubs and I can say Haus of Gloi Sugar Creme is on top of the list along with Isle of Eden, Skindecent, Rainforest Soap Shack & Cleanse Your Soul. The texture is scrubby and moisturizing, I adore it. The scent also nicely lingers on my skin after shower and it made my skin feels so silky smooth.
Other than Pumpkin Queen, 2 other Sugar Creme scrubs I ordered is in Imp & Elevenses scent. Britton gave me sample of another Sugar Creme in Satyr and 2 soaps in Absinthe & Vice.

Scent
Pumpkin Queen
- Sweet hay pillows, pumpkin flesh, ripe peaches dusted with clove, nutmeg and summer's last herb pickings, hung and dried ... lastly, a glowing crown of amber.

Imp - This little fellow longs to be your bath time companion! Peculiar passion fruit mingling with sun cured apricots, perfectly pink grapefruit juice and innocent whispers of wet mimosa blooms.

Elevenses
- Not quite breakfast and not quite lunch, its the little sip and nibble in between! Bring out the old cracked china! Tiny, little, fluffy orange cakes, sugar coated toasty almonds and a wee steaming cup of black tea.

Satyr - Absolutely fiendish creature! And quite frolicsome: Italian blood orange drizzled with blackened vanilla.

Absinthe - Hauntingly herbal. Wormwood and anise swim in a creamy green sea of lemon balm and soft glowing mints. A hefty lump of sugar and the tiniest drop of suggestive deep green moss.

Vice
- Steam billows rolling off a vessel of fresh made Turkish coffee, marshmallow goo tainted by graham cracker crumbs, toasted hazelnuts and blanketed in black chocolate.

Review
Pumpkin Queen:
this is THE queen of pumpkin. It smells like a warm spicy pumpkin pie with a sweet juicy peach note and another comforting autumn background. This is unlike regular pumpkin I've ever smelled, it's warm, spicy and scrumptious.

Imp:
juicy fruity goodness with subtle fresh mimosa, it's mouth-watering & such a complex fruity scent, which is hardly found.

Elevenses
: Ok, this baby rocks my socks. I wasn't too sure about the tea note at first but boy, it is sooooooo good. Reminds me a little bit like Bath & Body Works Iced Tea Twist but so much more complex & warm. I love how the black tea scent still comes to the surface but toned down with a fluffly orange cake & nutty almond. It is really, really good.

Satyr: this reminds me of Isle of Eden Halloween Frosting which is basically a blood orange with candy corn, the blood orange note is stronger in Satyr but when it's settled on skin, the sweetness dark vanilla comes through and rounds it as the blend becomes more interesting.

Absinthe:
I have to admit I was a bit worried because I have sniffed the real Absinthe before (yeah...long story lol) and I don't think I wanna smell like one, but this Absinthe is simply divine. The notes seem to be very herbal-y but for some reason they are all mixed and smell so freaking gorgeous & unique.

Vice:
Hmmm...simply a dessert on soap form. Coffee & chocolate blend is always number one in my bathing goodies scent and Vice is just a perfect blend of those two. The marshmallow does tone down the coffee note & hazelnut makes it smell a little 'naughty'. I'm gonna order the scrub once they're available (this Monday!).
