Review: Ardell Brow Defining Powder

I was looking for a replacement of my eyebrow pencil and I've been reading reviews on drugstore choices (no way I'm gonna spend moolah on brow powder hehe), and my choices came down to NYC brow kit or Ardell Brow Defining Powder.

When I finally checked them out on stores, I noticed NYC's darkest shade is too light for my eyebrow, that's why I decided to get this instead.

Ardell Brow Defining Powder

Price:
5/5
($4.00~ at drugstores or Wal Mart)

Packaging: 4/5
(nothing special, comes with a small angle brush)

Result: 5/5

Overall: 5/5 (me likey likey)

Application: just simply swab the brush on the powder -more like eyeshadow form- and draw a line following your natural shape of eye brow.

Soft Black color

Before

After

Love:
  • The color selection; They have 3 colors, Soft Black, Mink Brown and Taupe.
  • The price; it's not bad for the result : )
  • The brush; angled, short handle and firm (I know some people don't like this kinda brush, but I don't have problem with it...YET hehehe)
Loath:
  • The fact that it doesn't come with wax to keep hairs in tact, although I could always use my brow gel.
  • The 'powder', mine was kinda chipped a little bit so it's kinda messy.
Inan sez:

I got this one on Soft Black and this is the darkest one they offer. I'm so happy they have this color since my hair is dark and using brown powder just look too 'red' on me, very unnatural.

Before I used my Wet'n'Wild Eyebrow Pencil in #652 (Dark Brown) but I've started to notice in particular lighting my eyebrows look too brown. Plus when I'm not careful they can look too done. So I'm happy with this finding.

I'm liking the new layout! Thanks for this review! I'm using Wet N' Wild eyebrow pencil too right now. It's lasted me forever! But once this is gone, I might try this out...OH...I finally got my Mario Badescu samples.

ohh yay! we have that here!!! I am using MAC Coquette to fill in my brows and this will be a cheaper alternative i may give this a try after I finish my MAC. I've seent his around, but I think black is the only color available here...at least , I know it's not too black as just looking at the packaging scared the hell out of me..looks too dark! :) but your swatch color came out just right..thanks Inan :)

Yeah I hate the thought of spending a grip just on eyebrow powder, I really like the Studio one I got from Walgreens, it has three colors, and definitely worth $7!

Nessa: Wow I haven't seen Studio One ones (lol does that sounds funny?), sounds promising if you like them ^_^
